This is where stories are made.

 

Some arrive as novels. Others become picture books, films, television projects, or ideas that stubbornly refuse to fit into any particular category. Most begin the same way: as a curious little spark.

 

For years, I thought of my books as separate projects. An imaginary friend here. A bottled message there. A pet black hole down the hall. But eventually I realized they all belonged to the same strange little world. They were all being built in the same place.

 

So I gave the place a name.
